As Model, Specification & Kit Co-ordinator, you will play a crucial role in translating Asda’s store design vision into actionable, repeatable, and commercially effective store layouts and designs. You will ensure that all models, specifications, and kit standards are clear, accurate, and fully deliverable - providing the foundation for our stores to perform at their best.
You will work closely across the trading projects and commercial teams, ensuring that design concepts are translated into detailed, executable plans while maintaining the integrity and consistency of store models across the estate. By monitoring kit trials and evaluating outcomes, you will help the business understand what works in practice and make informed recommendations for roll-out, balancing commercial, operational, and customer considerations.
This is a role for someone who thrives on structure, precision, and collaboration, and who is passionate about turning ideas into practical, high-performing retail environments.
Models, Specifications & Design
Own and maintain the integrity of all store models, design standards, and kit specifications across formats.
Translate design vision and strategic objectives into clear, actionable briefs for delivery teams.
Ensure all specifications for fixtures and equipment are precise, unambiguous, and commercially viable.
Act as the central source of truth for model layouts, ensuring consistency across all stores.
Maintain accurate documentation, CAD drawings, and technical schedules to support execution.
Collaboration & Project Support
Work closely with Trading Projects, Commercial, Operations and Construction teams to ensure designs are fully deliverable and aligned with business objectives.
Support trading initiatives and pilot formats by translating kit trials into actionable insights and updated specifications.
Act as a key liaison between the store development function and store delivery teams, ensuring seamless communication and clarity of expectations.
Provide guidance and support to project teams on approved kit, models, and specifications throughout delivery.
Governance & Standards
Monitor adherence to specification standards, ensuring changes are tracked, communicated, and approved appropriately.
Ensure all models and kits comply with health & safety, operational, and brand standards.
Support robust decision-making around model changes, considering commercial impact and delivery feasibility.
Commercial & Operational Oversight
Evaluate the cost-effectiveness of specifications and kit, seeking opportunities to optimise spend without compromising quality or customer experience.
Monitor trial outcomes and post-implementation reviews to assess model effectiveness and recommend improvements.
Balance operational, customer, and commercial priorities when making decisions about model and kit specifications.
Continuous Improvement
Contribute to ongoing refinement of store model, specification, and kit processes.
Identify opportunities to standardise solutions, reduce variation, and enhance delivery efficiency.
Champion best practice and provide training or guidance to colleagues on model and specification standards.
